How is 20 Biggest Grant production Foundations For Christian Organizations

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from World Finance Corporation.

The following are the top 20 Christian grant funding sources in terms of funding generosity.

1. Of all the Christian grant foundations accepting applications at this time the Alharetta, Georgia-based National Christian Foundation (Ncf) provides the most funds. Seeking to further the gospel of Jesus Christ, its funding territory is national. This is largely a donor advised fund. A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving vehicle administered by a third party and created for the purpose of managing charitable donations on behalf of an organization, family, or individual. A donor-advised fund offers the chance to create an easy-to-establish, low cost, flexible vehicle for charitable giving as an alternative to direct giving or creating a hidden foundation.

Ncf helps individuals and families plan their giving through such programs as the legacy Fund (after death giving). It advises them on asset giving (cash, stocks, real estate, company interests, restricted securities) and shows them how to equilibrium wage needs and estate planning goals (through charitable trusts and charitable gift annuities.)

The particular Charity Fund allows supporters to donate all kinds of assets; the expert Advisors group - comprised of financial planners, Cpa's, attorneys, and more - advises supporters in the art of tax-efficient giving.

2. The Christian Aid Ministries is a foundation based in Berlin, Ohio. Having an international gift giving scope, the Ministries seeks to "provide spiritual and material aid such as food, clothing, medicine, and Christian literature to needy habitancy in varied countries." It also provides accident funds and in-kind gifts. The Ministries supports Amish, Mennonite, and other conservative Anabaptists as they minister to the physical and religious needs of habitancy worldwide. It aids victims of war, famine, and natural disasters.

3. The Nehemiah Corporation is a foundation out of Sacramento, California. Its mission is to facilitate "home proprietary and asset improvement opportunities for diverse populations in underserved neighborhoods over the U.S., while maintaining a commitment to successful, responsible homeownership." It gives mostly to California foundations and individuals and to Christian organizations that reserve its mission.

4. The Trinity Christian center of Santa Ana is a foundation from Tustin, California. It supports Christian services and organizations that seek to spread the gospel around the world. It provides care, comfort, and accident aid to the sick, the disabled, the homeless. It is also known for producing televised religious broadcasts for ministries that spread the gospel worldwide.

Its participating churches consist of legacy Churches, Good Steward Ministry Churches, Member Asset administration Churches, Member Churches. It also offers stewardship study as well as improvement programs that facilitate stewardship "based on God's proprietary of all gifts."

6. The J. Bulow Campbell Foundation is an independent foundation from Atlanta, Georgia. The foundation seeks to uplift "intellectual and spiritual life, preferably projects of a permanent nature or for capital funds." It does not fund operating expenses or recurrent programs except in cases where funding might allow a considerable new agenda to result without lasting reserve from the foundation. It gives anonymously to church-related agencies of the Presbyterian Church, but not to congregations. It mostly supports organizations in Georgia, though it does give to organizations in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

7. The Rupert H. Johnson Foundation is an independent foundation in San Mateo, California that generally funds only educational programs in California and Virginia. Only Christian organizations seeking grants for study programs in these two geographic regions would be eligible for funding.

It provides employee/matching gifts and funds capital campaigns, general operations, administration and agenda development, and scholarship funds. 10. The Wege Foundation, an independent foundation in Grand Rapids, Michigan, gives mostly within Kent County and above all in Grand Rapids. Christian agencies that supply health, human services, and study are likelier to receive funding from the foundation than those that do not. It funds each year campaigns, building/renovation, capital campaigns, curriculum development, endowments, equipment, matching/challenge campaigns, and agenda development.

11. The Hope Christian society Foundation is a Christian communal charity society foundation in Memphis, Tennessee that "helps Christians share their wealth with others in the most thoughtful and efficient ways." Toward that end, the foundation offers consulting services, equipment, general/operating support, agenda improvement and evaluation, and seed money to Christian organizations.

14. The National Endowment relationship is a communal charity in Princeton, Indiana that helps small to mid-sized charities in the United States, mostly religious ministries, endow funds. The objective is to free ministries from the constant demands of fundraising so they can devote more time to their missions. The relationship helps them solicit long-term planned gifts, something the larger charities already have the means to do. It helps them tap into larger funding sources through tax-exempt planning. It also helps them promote their charity by offering website templates, educational classes, marketing material templates, marketing/fundraising consultation, and donor/consumer seminars.

15. The Harold Simmons Foundation of Dallas, Texas is a company-sponsored foundation. It provides grants that reserve zoos, arts and culture, education, energy, health, substance abuse treatment, Hiv/Aids treatment, disaster relief, athletics, human services, human rights, society development, programs that address women's issues, and Christian organizations. It gives mostly in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

16. The Norcliffe Foundation is an independent foundation in Seattle, Washington. It gives to organizations that advantage the arts and cultural organizations, hospitals, early childhood development, higher and secondary education, and historic preservation. It also supports medical study and health associations, hospices, the environment and conservation, and communal services that consist of programs for the disabled, the homeless, child welfare, youth agencies, and the aged. The foundation's Christian grantees are the Roman Catholic Church and religious associations. It gives mostly in the Puget Sound area of Washington, especially in Seattle.

17. The Stephen and Mary Birch Foundation of Wilmington, Delaware is an independent foundation that gives throughout the United States. It supports nonprofit institutions, communities, and organizations that reserve research, medical, health, educational, sports, communal services, and artistic programs in communities over the nation. It primarily supports organizations and programs that further this mission. The Trust provides grants that help start new ministries or new programs or enlarge current programs. It may also reserve medical study in distinct areas.

19. The Lynn and bring up Freiss family Foundation is an independent foundation out of Jackson, Wyoming. It mostly funds faith-based entrepreneurial programs, especially one-one-one mentoring. The foundation provides general/operating support, matching/challenge support, and program-related investment/loans.

20. Ibs-Stl is a foundation from Colorado Springs, Colorado. It came about in 2007 from a merger of the National Bible society and Send the Light. It gives nationally and internationally to Christian organizations that further its mission of translating, interpreting, and publishing the Bible. Its goal is to give more and more habitancy throughout the world the chance to feel the Bible.

Some foundations exist solely to advantage Christian ministries and churches. Others lack a direct relationship to Christianity but work to solve problems that are at the core of Christian concern. Some have a itsybitsy geographic focus; others have a national focus; still others have an international focus. But wherever your assosication operates, and anyone programs it has, many (if not most) of these foundations are viable funding possibilities for your organization. And there are countless other possibilities. The Christian Funding Directory (Cfd), Foundation Directory Online, and Foundation quest are the most considerable sources of information about foundations.

There are 3 major drugstore chains in the Us: Walgreens, Cvs, and Rite Aid. Below are some key statistics about the 3 major drugstore chains as of 2012:

What I said. It is not outcome that the actual about World Finance Corporation. You check this out article for facts about a person want to know is World Finance Corporation.

How is Walgreens, Cvs, and Rite Aid - What Re Investors Should Know

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from World Finance Corporation.

1. Walgreens ranks first with store cap of .51 Billion, .2 Billion in 2011 total income (.1B from prescription revenues), and an S&P rating of A. According to Walgreens, 75% of the Us people lives within 3 miles from its stores. In April 2010, it acquired 258 Duane Reade drug stores in New York Metropolitan area which brings a total of 7841 drug stores Walgreens operates as of February 2012, including 137 hospital on-site pharmacies.

2. Cvs ranks second with store cap of .56 Billion, 7.1 Billion in income (.5 Billion from Cvs prescription revenues and .1B from its Caremark prescription mail order revenue), and an S&P rating of Bbb+. As of December 31, 2011, Cvs operates 7404 drug stores.

3. Rite Aid ranks third (fourth, behind Walmart in terms of prescription revenues) with store cap of .49 Billion, .1 Billion in income (.1B from prescription revenues), operates 4714 drug stores as of February 2011 and has an S&P rating of B-.

Investors buy properties busy by these drugstore chains for the following reasons:

1. The drugstore business is very recession-insensitive. people need treatment when they are sick, regardless of the state of the economy. Both rich and poor people in the Us have entrance to medicine. Some even argue that low-income people use more treatment due to free or low-cost drugs offered by government-assisted programs. So the tenants should do well during tough time and have money to pay rent to landlords.

2. The drugstore business has a good anticipation in the Us:

· people are living longer and need more treatment to retain longevity, e.g. Actonel for osteoporosis, Aricept for Alzheimer's symptoms. Older people tend to use more treatment than younger ones as they often have more curative problems. As the 78 million baby boomers are getting closer to retiring age beginning from 2008, the drugstore chains anticipate the request for treatment to growth in next 20 years.

· The drug store continues to expand as the Us people continues to grow. More and more Americans suffer from varied diseases. The number of Americans suffers from seasonal allergies doubled in the last 15 years to 37 million people per Fortune magazine. They spent .4 Billion in 2009 for allergy drugs. As their waist lines balloon (75% of Americans are forecasted to be whether overweight or obese by 2020), more Americans are diagnosed with diabetes, along with high cholesterol at younger and younger ages. In addition, doctors also advise treating varied diseases sooner than later due to best comprehension about the diseases. For example, doctors now prescription antiretroviral drugs for patients soon after infected with Hiv virus instead of waiting for the infection to become Aids. More doctors couple insulin with oral medicines to treat type-2 Diabetes instead of just oral medicines alone. All these factors growth the size of the drug market.

· expand in genetic engineering has introduced varied new genetic Dna testing kits which allow the genetic diagnosis of vulnerabilities to inherited diseases and disorders. Genetic testing is currently the top growth segment in the diagnostics industry. Some of these genetic tests will probably transform into direct-to-consumer testing kits available in drug stores in the near future.Upon Fda approval, these new products will potentially bring in added income for drug stores.

· Using a new recipe of tailoring molecules called structure-based design; drug clubs come up with new medicines that they might not have discovered otherwise, e.g. Xalkori by Pfizer to treat lung cancer.

· The duct of health Care Reform Bill on March 23, 2010 provides insurance coverage to an estimated 33 million more American. This is a great present to the drugstore industry.

· There are new drugs to treat previously untreatable illnesses, and new diseases, e.g. Viagra for men's unhappiness, Avastin for colon cancer, Herceptin for breast cancer,. The new medicines are very expensive, e.g. A year's supply of Avastin costs about ,000. Eli Lilly has sold about .8 billion of Zyprexa in 2007 for schizophrenia and yet most people have never heard of this medicine.

· There are existing drugs now approved to treat new illnesses and thus growth their sales revenue. For example, Lyrica was originally intended to treat pain caused by nerve damagein people with diabetes. It is now approved by Fda to treat Fibromyalgia which affects 5.8 million Americans per WebMd.

· Big advances in genetics, biology and stem cells study are predicted to yield a new class of drugs to treat diabetes, Parkinson's and varied rare genetic disorders. For example the new drug Ilaris from Novartis targets genetic causes of an inherited disorder that there are only 7000 known cases worldwide. However, Novartis hopes to moderately broaden its drugs to a blockbuster drug to more coarse disorders caused by similar genetics.

· Technology and contemporary life introduce and need new products, e.g. Pregnancy test kits, Lamisil for stronger clearer toe nails, Latisse for longer & thicker eyelashes, Propecia for male hair loss, Premarin for menopausal symptoms, diabetic monitors, electronic toothbrushes, perceive lenses, lenses cleaners, diet pills, vitamins, birth-control pills, Iuds, cusine supplements and Cholesterol-lowering pills (Americans spent nearly B in 2006 on Cholesterol medications alone per Ims Health, a Connecticut-based consulting business that monitors pharmaceutical sales.)

· Before the customers can get to the treatment aisles or pharmacy counters, they have to pass by chocolates, sodas, digital cameras, watches, toys, dolls, beers and wines, cosmetics, video games, flowers, fragrances, and greeting cards. Drug stores hope you use the one-hour photos services there. The stores also carry seasonal items, e.g. Halloween costumes, and "As Seen on Tv" merchandise, e.g. Shamwow. As a result, customers buy more than their prescriptions and treatment in these drugstores. Cvs reported that non-pharmacy sales represented 30% of the company's total sales in January of 2007. The frame for Walgreens is 34% and 37% for Rite Aid. Many pharmacy locations are in result convenience stores especially ones that are in residential or rural areas. And so Walgreens hopes that customers also pick up Wd-40, and screwdrivers at its stores instead of at Home Depot; Thai Jasmine rice, and fish sauce to avoid a trip to Safeway or Kroger Supermarkets. during the recession, sales of these non-drug items are down as customers buy what they need and not what they want. Walgreens tries to sell out the number of items by 4000. It also introduces its own secret label which has higher behalf margins.

· There are more and more generic medications on the store as a number of enormously beloved brand-name blockbusters lose their 20-year long patents, e.g. Lipitor (best selling drug in the world to lower cholesterol) in 2010, Viagra (you know what it's for) in 2012. Drugstores prefer to sell generic drugs to customers due to higher behalf margins than the brand-name medications.

· Many people are addicted to pain killers, e.g. Hydrocodone/Oxycodone. Per the Dea in 2012, there are 1.5 million American addicted to cocaine but 7 million addicted to prescription drugs.

· This author estimates that at least 10% of the dispensed prescription drugs are not used at all and sit idle in the treatment cabinets. They are at last expired and thrown away.

3. These clubs sign very long-term Nnn leases, guaranteed by their corporate assets. This makes the venture in the basic property fairly low risk, especially for Walgreens with a S&P "A" rating. In fact, these properties are sometimes referred to as investment-grade properties. Once the drugstore chains sign the lease, they pay the rent promptly and timely. This author is not aware of any properties leased by one of these drugstore chains in which the tenants failed to pay rents. Even when the stores are done due to weak sales (Walgreens done 119 stores in 2007), these clubs may sublease the properties to other companies, e.g. expand Auto Parts and continue to pay rents on the specialist leases.

· A typical Walgreens lease consists of 20-25 year former term plus 8-10 five-year options. during former term and options, there will be no rent increases in most of the leases. This is the main disadvantage of investing in Walgreens drugstores.

· A typical Cvs lease consists of 20-25 year former term plus 4-5 five-year options. The rent is ordinarily flat during the former term and then there is a 2.5%-10% rent growth in each 5-year option.

· A typical Rite Aid lease consists of 20-25 year former term plus 4-8 five-year options. The lease often has a rent growth every 5-10 years.

Investment Risks

Although the pharmacy business in normal is recession-insensitive, there are risks complicated in your investment:

1) The main downside about investing in pharmacies is there is exiguous or no rent bump for a long time, e.g. 20-50 years, especially for Walgreens. So the rent is effectively reduced after inflation is factored in. This is one of the main reasons these properties do not motion to younger investors, especially when the cap rate is low.

2) The 3 drugstore chains now have a new formidable competitor, Walmart. Walmart sells prescription drugs in more than 4000 Walmart, Sam's Club and Neighborhood store stores in 49 states. As of 2012, Walmart is the third largest drug retailer with .4B in prescription sales, just ahead of Rite Aid with .1B in prescription sales. The sell giant is known for launching in 2006 a highly-publicized generic prescription drug schedule which now sells 350 generic medications for a 30-day supply. The actual number of medications is less as the medications with dissimilar strengths are counted as dissimilar medications. For example, Metformin 500 mg, 850 mg, and 1000 mg are counted as 3 medications. Walmart probably makes very exiguous profits on these medications if any. However, the marketing campaign--created by Bill Simon, the President and Ceo of Walmart Us, generates a lot of publicity for Walmart. Walmart hopes to draw customers to its stores with other prescriptions where it has higher behalf margins. In an unscientific seek with just one brand-name prescription of Lyrica, this author finds the bottom price at Costco, the top price at Walgreens and Walmart at the middle. Other drug chains try to counter Walmart in dissimilar ways. Target now offers the same 350 generic medications for for a 30-day supply. Walgreens has a prescription drugs club with membership fee which offers 1400 generic medications for as exiguous as /week. Cvs says it will match any offers from its competitors.

3) Chief business Correspondent Rick Newman from Us World & News description predicted that Rite Aid might not survive in 2009. Rite Aid is still nearby in 2012. The prediction seems to go away in 2012 as Rite Aid as it was able to refinance the long terms debts and sales income has increased.

4) Drugs are also sold in thousands of supermarkets, Target stores, and Costco warehouses. However, there are no drive-through windows at these stores or Walmart to comfortably drop off the prescriptions and pick up medicines. Customers will not be able to pick up their prescriptions during lunch hour or after 7Pm at Target stores or supermarkets. They need to have membership to buy medicines at Costco. Others may not fill their prescriptions at Walmart because they don't want to mingle with typical Walmart customers who are in lower income brackets. And some baby boomers don't want their prescriptions filled at Target or Walmart because there are no comfortable chairs for them to sit down and wait for their medicines.

5) Drugs sell business to some degree is controlled by the Pharmacy Benefits Managers (Pbms). Customers ordinarily get prescription coverage from their health insurance companies, e.g. Blue Cross. These Pbm manage prescription benefits on behalf of the insurance companies. In 2012 Walgreens lost a covenant valued at over Billion with Express Scripts, a major Pbm. Walgreen income was immediately fallen in the first quarter of 2012 as Express Scripts customers cannot fill their prescriptions at Walgreens. The Pbms are also in the drugs sell business via mail orders which do not need leasing costly sell spaces. The prescription mail orders currently capture over 20% store share of the total prescription revenue. Should customers change their prescription buy habits to mail orders (there is no such evidence in 2012), it could have negative impact to the business of drugstore chains.

6) Many leases in areas with hurricanes and tornadoes are Nnn leases with the exception of roof and structure. So if the roof is damaged, you will have to pay for the expenses.

7) The tenant may move to a new location down the road or across the street when the lease expires. This risk is high when the property is placed in small town where there is low fence for entry, i.e. Lots of vacant & developable land.

8) The tenant may ask for rent concession to enhance its bottom line during tough times. The possibility is higher if the tenant is Rite Aid and if the store has low sales income and/or higher than store rent.

9) More Americans are walking away from their prescriptions, especially the most costly brand-name medicines. This may have negative impact on the sales income and profits of drug stores and consequently may cause drug store closures. According to Wolters Kluwer Pharma Solution, a health-care data company, nearly 1 in 10 new prescriptions for brand-name drugs were abandoned by people with market health plans in 2010. This is up 88% compared to 4 years ago just before the retreat began. This trend is driven in part by higher and higher co-pays for brand name drugs as employers are shifting more insurance costs to their employees.

Among 3 drugstore chains, Walgreens and Cvs pharmacies in normal have the best locations-at major intersections while Rite Aid has less than prime locations. Walgreens tends to hire only the top graduates from pharmacy schools while Rite Aid settles with bottom graduates to save costs. When possible, all drugstore chains try to fill the prescriptions with generic medications which have higher behalf margins.

1) Walgreens: the business was founded in 1901 by Charles Walgreen, Sr. In Chicago. While the business has existed for more than 100 years, most stores are only 5-10 years old. This is the best managed business among the three drugstore chains and also among the most admired group clubs in the Us. The business has been run by executives with proven track records and hires the top graduates from universities. Due to its superior financial strength--S&P A rating-- and prime irreplaceable locations, properties with leases from Walgreens get the top price per square foot and/or the bottom cap rate among the 3 drugstore chains. In addition, Walgreens gets flat rent or very low rent increases for 20 to 60 years. The cap rate is often in the low 5% to 6.5% range in 2012. Investors who buy Walgreens tend to be more mature, i.e. Closer to relinquishment age. They are seeing for a safe venture where it's more prominent to get the rent check than to get appreciation. They often correlate the returns on their Walgreens venture with the lower returns from Us treasury bonds or Certificate of Deposits from banks. Walgreens opened many new stores in 2008 and 2009 and thus you see many new Walgreens stores for sale. It will slow down this expansion in 2010 and beyond and focus on renovation of existing stores instead.

2) Cvs Pharmacy: Cvs Corporation was founded in 1963 in Lowell, Ma by Stanley Goldstein, Sidney Goldstein, and Ralph Hoagland. The name Cvs stands for "Consumer Value Stores". As of 2009, Cvs has about 6300 stores in the Us, mostly through acquisitions. In 2004, Cvs bought 1,200 Eckerd Drugstores mostly in Texas and Florida. In 2006, Cvs bought 700 Savon and Osco drugstores mostly in Southern California. And in 2008 Cvs acquired 521 Longs Drugs stores in California, Hawaii, Nevada and Arizona for .9B dollars. The acquisition of Long Drugs appears to be a good one as it Cvs did not have any stores in Northern Ca and Arizona. Besides, the price also included real estate. It is also bought Caremark, one of the largest Pbms and changed the corporation name to Cvs Caremark. When Cvs bought 1,200 Eckerd stores, it formed a single-entity Llc (Limited Liability Company) to own each Eckerd store. Each Llc signs the lease with the property owner. In the event of a default, the owner can only legally go after the assets of the Llc and not from any other Cvs-owned assets. Although the owner loses the guaranty safety from Cvs corporate assets, this author is not aware of any incident where Cvs closes a store and does not pay rent.

3) Rite-Aid: Rite Aid was founded by Alex Grass (he just passed away on Aug 27, 2009 at the age of 82) and opened its first store in 1962 as "Thrif D reduction Center" in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It officially incorporated as Rite Aid Corporation and went group in 1968. By the time Alex Grassstepped down as the company's chairman and chief menagerial officer in 1995, Rite Aid was the nation's largest drugstore chain in terms of total stores and No. 2 in terms of revenue. His son, Martin Grass, took over but was ousted in 1999 for overstatement of Rite Aid's income in the late 1990s. Rite Aid is now the weakest financially among the 3 drugstore chains. In 2007, Rite-Aid acquired about 1,850 Brooks and Eckerd drugstores, mostly along the East coast to catch up with Walgreens and Cvs. In the process, it added a huge long term debt and is the most leveraged drugstore chain based on its store value. The integration of Brooks and Eckerd did not seem to go well. income from some of these stores went down as much as 20% after they change the sign to Rite Aid. In 2009, Rite-Aid had over 4900 stores and over Billion in revenues. The figures went down in 2010 to 4780 stores and .53 billion in revenue. On January 21, 2009 Moody's Investor Services downgraded Rite Aid from "Caa1" to "Caa2", eight notches below venture grade. Both ratings are "junk" which indicate very high credit risk. Rite Aid contacted a number of its landlords in 2009 trying to get rent concession to enhance the bottom line. In June 2009, Rite Aid successfully completed refinancing .9 Billion of its debts. In 2012, Rite Aid benefits from Walgreens covenant qoute with Express Scripts. Same store sales increased 2.2%, 3.2%, and 3.6% for January, February and March of 2012, respectively. Rite Aid is still losing money in fiscal year 2012 which ended in March 3, 2012. However, it is losing less, .43 per share in 2012 versus .64 per share in fiscal year 2011. The business expects best outlook in fiscal year 2013.

Things to reconsider when invested in a pharmacy

If you are curious in investing in a property leased by drugstore chains, here are a few things to consider:

1. If you want a low risk investment, go with Walgreens. In carport or growing areas, the degree of safety is the same whether the property is in California where you get a 5.5% cap or Texas where you may get a 6.5% cap. So, there is no important advantage to invest in properties in California as the property value is based primarily on the cap rate. In 2012, the offered cap rate for Walgreens seems to come down from 7.5%-8.4% in 2009 to 5.5%-6.5% for new stores.

2. If you are willing to take more risk, then go with Rite-Aid. Some properties face of California may offer up to 9% cap rate in 2012. However, among the 3 drug chains, Rite Aid has 10.5% occasion of going under in 2010. Should it maintain bankruptcy, Rite Aid has the choice to pick and choose which locations to keep open and which locations to cease the lease. To minimize the risk that the store is shuttered, choose a location with strong sales and low rent to income ratio.

3. Financing should be an prominent consideration. While the cap rate is lower for Walgreens than Rite Aid, you will be able to get the best rates and terms for Walgreens.

4. If you are not a conservative investor or risk taker, you may want to reconsider a Cvs pharmacy. It has Bbb+ S&P credit rating. Its cap rate is higher than Walgreens but lower than Rite Aid. Some leases may offer best rent bumps. On the other hand, some Cvs leases, especially for properties in hurricane areas, e.g. Florida are not truly Nnn leases where landlords are responsible for the roof and structure. So make sure you adjust the cap rate down accordingly. Some of the Cvs locations have onsite Minuteclinic staffed by registered nurses. Since this clinic idea was introduced recently, it's not clear having a clinic inside Cvs is a plus or minus to the bottom line of the store.

5. All 3 drugstore chains have similar requirements. They all want very visible, standalone, rectangular property nearby 10,000 - 14,500 Sf on a 1.5 - 2 acre lot, preferably at a corner with about 75 - 80 parking spaces in a growing and high traffic location. They all need the property to have a drive-through. Hence, you should avoid purchasing an inline property, i.e. Not standalone and property with no drive-through windows. There is a occasion that these drugstores may not want to renew the lease unless the property is placed in a densely-populated area with no vacant land nearby. In addition, if you acquire a property that does not meet the new requirements, for example a drive-through, you may have a qoute getting financing as lenders are aware of these requirements.

6. If the pharmacy is opened 24 hours a day, it is in a best location. Drugstore chains do not open the store 24 hours day unless the location draws customers.

7. Many properties may have a ration lease, i.e. The landlord can get added rent when the store's every year income exceeds a obvious figure, e.g. M. However, the income used to compute ration rent often excludes a page-long list of items, e.g. Wine and sodas, tobacco products, items sold after 10 Pm, drugs paid by governmental programs. The excluded sales income could account for as much as 70% of store's gross revenue. As a result, this author has seen only 2 stores in which the landlord is able to acquire added ration rent. The store with a ration rent is required to description its every year sales to the landlord. As an investors, you want to invest in a store with strong gross sales, e.g. Over 0 per square foot a year. In addition, you also want to check the rent to income ratio. If the frame is in the 2-4% range, the store is likely to be very profitable so the occasion the store is shut down is low.

8. It does not matter how good the tenants are, avoid investing in declining, e.g. Detroit and/or low-income areas or small towns with less than 30,000 residents within 5 miles ring. In a small town, it may be the only drug store in town and captures most of the store share. However, if a competitor opens a new location in the area, income may be severely affected. In addition, the tenant can all the time moves to a new location down the road when the lease expires since there is low fence to entry in a small town. These properties are easy to buy now and hard to sell later. When the credit store is tight, you may have problems seeing a lender to finance these properties.

9. Many properties have an existing loan that the buyer must assume. If you have a 1031 exchange, think twice about buying this property. You should clearly understand loan assumption requirements of the lenders before moving forward. Should you fail to assume the existing loan (assuming an existing loan is a lot more difficult than getting a new loan), you may run out of time for a 1031 replacement and may be liable to pay capital gain.

10. With few exceptions, drugstore chains do not own the stores they occupy for several reasons. Here are just a couple of them:

- They know the pharmacy business but don't know real estate. Stock investors also don't want Walgreens to become a real estate venture company.

- Owning the real estate will need them to carry lots of long term debts which is not a fantastic idea for a publicly-traded company.

11. About 10% of the drugstore properties for sale and typically Cvs pharmacies need very small number of equity to acquire, e.g. 10% of the buy price. However, you are required to assume an existing fully-amortized loan with zero cash flow. That is, all of the rent paid by the tenant must be used to pay down the loan. The cap rate may be in the 7-9% range, and the interest rate on the loan could be moving in the 5.5% to 6% range. Hence, the investor pays off the loan in 10 to 20 years. However, you have no obvious cash flow. This requires you to come up with face cash to pay income tax on the rental profits (the incompatibility in the middle of the rent and mortgage interest). The longer you own the property, the more face cash you will need to pay income taxes as the mortgage interest will get less and less toward the end. So who would buy this kind of property?

- The investors who have great losses from other venture properties. By acquiring this zero cash flow property, they may offset the income from the drugstore tenant against the losses from other venture properties. For example, a property has 5,000 of rental profits a year, and the investor also has losses of 0,000 from other properties. As a result, the combined chargeable profits are only ,000.

- The uninformed investors who fail to reconsider that they have to raise added cash to pay income taxes.

Out of the Box Thinking

If you put too much weight on the S&P rating of the tenants, you may end up whether taking a lot of risks or passing up good opportunities.

A Good location should be the key in your decision on which drug store to invest in. It's often said a lousy business should do well at a great location while the best tenant will fail at a lousy location. A Walgreens store that is done down later on (yes, Walgreens done 119 stores in 2007) is still a bad venture even though Walgreens continues paying rent on time. So you don't want to blindly invest in a drug store plainly because it has a Walgreens sign on the building.
No business is crazy adequate to close a profitable location. It does not take rocket science to understand that a financially-weak business like Rite Aid will make every endeavor to keep a profitable location open. On the other hand, a financially-strong Walgreens will need justifications to keep an unprofitable location open. So how do you resolve if a drug store location is profitable or not if the tenant is not required to disclose its behalf & loss statement? The rejoinder is you cannot. However, you can make an educated guess based on the store's every year gross income which is often reported to the landlord as required by the ration clause in the lease. With the gross revenue, you can resolve the rent to income ratio. The lower the ratio, the more likely the store is profitable. For example, if the every year base rent is 0,000 while the store's gross income is M then the rent to income ratio is 5%. As a rule of thumb, it's hard to make a behalf if this ratio is more than 8%. So if you see a Rite Aid with 3% rent to income ratio then you know it's likely a very profitable location. In the event Rite Aid declares bankruptcy, it will keep this location open and continue paying rent. If you see a Rite Aid drug store with 3% rent to income ratio offering 10% cap, chances are it's a low risk venture with good returns and the tenant will most likely to renew the lease. The infirmity of corporate guaranty from Rite Aid is probably not as important and the risk of having Rite Aid as a tenant is not literally that significant.
Drug stores with new 25 years leases tend to sell at lower cap, e.g. 6-7% cap on new stores versus 8.0-8.5% cap on established locations with 5-10 years remaining on the lease. This is because investors are afraid that the tenants may not renew the leases. Unfortunately, lenders also have the same fear! As a result, many lenders will not finance drug stores with 2-3 years left on the leases. The fact that drugstores with new leases have a prime on the price means they have possible of 20% depreciation (buying new at 6% cap and selling at 7.5% cap when the leases have 8 year left). Some investors will not reconsider investing in drug stores with 5-10 years left on the lease. They might plainly ignore the fact that the established stores may be at irreplaceable locations with very strong sales. Tenants plainly have no other choices other than renewing the lease.

Do you know about - troops and Trends in business

World Finance Corporation! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

The corporate environment is characterized by a estimate of variables: competition, dynamism, turbulence, complexity and change. All organizations must originate quality to continuously and consciously transform themselves and their contexts. Such contexts contain restructuring for optimum effectiveness, reengineering key processes and streamlining functions that are able to supply a source of competitive advantage. The aim is to adapt, regenerate and most important, survive. (McLean, 2006).

What I said. It is not outcome that the true about World Finance Corporation. You check out this article for information on an individual need to know is World Finance Corporation.

How is troops and Trends in business

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from World Finance Corporation.

For a business to thrive today, strategists must find ways to growth the organization's quality to read and react to industry and market changes. They must know their goal to boost the company's strategic flexibility by recognizing disruptions earlier and responding faster.
Strategic flexibility or adaptability can be defined as the organization’s capacity to identify major changes in its external environments, speedily commit resources to new courses of operation in response to such changes, and to identify and act promptly when it is time to halt or reverse existing resource commitments. Being adaptable means leaders must not get stuck in a too-rigid way of looking at the world. The society must view turn as an inevitable and vital part of an organization's growth, in order to perform this adaptability.

When there is uncertainty or unpredictability in the environment, managers tend to focus approximately all their vigor on successfully executing the current strategy. What they also should be doing is establishment for an unknown future. Flexibility stems from the quality to learn; managers tend to overlook the negative and emphasize the positive. They need to understand not only what led to the inevitable outcomes but also what led to the negative ones. This will optimize their learning experience. Agreeing to Ford (2004) four points to bring up and profess adaptability contain spirited complacency, giving all employees a voice, encouraging participative work and driving fear out of your group.

The associates chosen for this task vary by industry: a noted automobile constructor (Ford) a bank going straight through a merger (Compass) and a start-up software business (DawningStreams). Ford and Compass have been in business for a long time; it is likely they have changed their strategic plan based on changing troops and trends. DawningStreams is new (established in 2005 and incorporated in 2007). Even though they have not had their first sale and have no staff, the owners have devised any iterations of their strategy.

There is a diversity of stakeholders all that are concerned in the operation of business organizations. Emphasis must be placed on their adaptability in strategic pathology and their adaptability in strategic supervision of business organizations. The society must have a strategic supervision model.

Each business might scan the same areas, but for distinct reasons. considering technological advances, Ford would get ready itself to lead the market by having assorted electronic tool in their vehicles, as well as robotic tool with which to build them and the supply chain technology to keep all in check. Compass Bank is going straight through a merge and increasing globally; therefore they will need to keep abreast of communication technology. DawningStreams is a software company; they will need to monitor those associates who would be their competition to ensure their goods offers better functionality. All three associates would make sure potential customers would be able to get good information from internet websites and advertisement, which encompasses yet other area of technology the organizations may need/want to scan. In this instance, many members of the society must be enrolled: upper supervision and finance, who will resolve budgetary factors; the It department, who will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of some of the technology; the staff who must be trained to use the technology; a sales force who will sell the technology.

To the face observer, it may seem unnecessary for any but Ford to scan the (actual) environment when it comes to issues such as emission control, fuel efficiency and hybrid cars. That is true however; Compass Bank and DawningStreams can plan a strategy to be friendlier to the environment (and their pocketbooks) by practicing paper reduction (through the aforementioned technology). Lastly, DawningStreams’ goods may be useful as a file sharing assistance to environmental groups.

With regard to the legal environment, all three must be acutely aware of laws, which affect their respective industry among others. To Ford, legal applies, among other areas, to environmental protection laws and division of communication protection laws. To Compass Bank, they would abide by the rules of the Federal keep (www.federalreserve.gov) and the Federal assurance and Deposit Corporation (www.fdic.gov). DawningStreams must result laws as they pertain to the transfer of files, which have intellectual asset and also the export of products, which have algorithms. All three associates are global and will need to monitor those laws in other countries, which could result the strategic planning.

At one business after another--from Sears to Ibm to Hewlett-Packard to Searle, strategy is again a major focus in the quest for higher revenues and profits. With help from a new generation of business strategists, associates are pursuing novel ways to hatch new products, expand existing businesses, and generate the markets of tomorrow. Some associates are even recreating full-fledged strategic-planning groups. United Parcel assistance expects to spin out a new strategy group from its marketing department, where strategic plans are now hatched. Explains Chairman Kent C. Nelson: ``Because we're production bigger bets on investments in technology, we can't afford to spend a whole lot of money in one direction and then find out five years later it was the wrong direction.''

In such a world we need a planning model that allows us to anticipate the hereafter and to use this hope in conjunction with an pathology of our organization--its culture, mission, strengths and weaknesses--to define strategic issues, to chart our direction by developing strategic foresight and plans, to define how we will implement these plans and to specify how we will rate how well we are implementing these plans. The fact that the world is changing as we move forward in the hereafter demands that the process be an iterative one.

Ford Motor business – Socio-cultural

Ford Motor business embraces the socio-cultural changes taking place to allow the business to move in the right direction with respect to attitudes in the society. Two areas that stand out in terms of socio-cultural attitudes would be that of fuel cheaper and smaller cars. The growing concern by the social for better fuel cheaper has influenced the company’s introduction of the Ford escape Hybrid and Mercury Mariner Hybrid. The society is committed to the hybrid to heighten fuel cheaper as a global strategy to meet customer demands. The increased interrogate in community for such environmentalism has assisted in the decision for Ford Motor business to look forward to adding the hybrid feature to the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan and continue in such a strategic planning direction.

The customers that use these vehicles get a great break on their assurance in many states and a tax credit as well while enjoying the increased mileage of a vehicle that runs on gasoline and capabilities for 100 percent electric power. The environmental scanning by Ford Motor business has allowed the business to be knowledgeable of the fact that the citizen in the United States are buying more small cars today than any other type of vehicle segment. The lifestyles changes have been monitored and there is good data that shows that such a trend will continue in this direction and the improbable growth in this segment will continue. The business has redesigned the inside and face of the Ford Focus to set the car apart from the competitors in the small car segment while increasing upgrades and features to perceive inevitable outcomes. The direction that the business is taking is based on a competitive benefit and being a leader in the industry. The vehicle line has both a sedan and a coupe to attract targeted markets including younger buyers at an entry level to build upon brand loyalty and customer retention. Ford Motor business will continue to use the socio-cultural factors to drive the business and enjoy hereafter success.

Ford Motor business – Legal –

Ford Motor business with regard to the Environmental protection division adheres to the legal aspect of environmental scanning. Ford Motor business acceptable an award in March 2007 from the Environmental protection division called the vigor Star 2007 Partner of the Year Award in vigor Management. The business is the first automaker to have ever been awarded the award two years in a row. The award has come to be presented due to the commitment made by the business to growth vigor efficiency and to sell out the greenhouse gas emissions from all of the facilities in the company.

The society is committed to the responsible use of resources and vigor efficiency. The leadership realizes that the environmental protection laws are of great significance and use the environmental scanning to move in the right direction to obtain hereafter success in the company. In 2006 alone the business has improved the vigor efficiency in the United States operations by five percent and rescue approximately million with adequate vigor saved to equal 220,000 homes. The effective vigor supervision protects the environment and reduces the greenhouse emissions. Some of the actions taken by the business contain replacing lighting fixtures that use 40 percent less vigor and using distinct low-energy, long-lasting ageement fluorescent lamps in the properties to contain the plants, corporate offices, distribution centers, and research and amelioration campuses. Due to the environmental scanning that takes place at Ford Motor business the business will use the information that is collected and continue in this direction. New projects for the business contain Fumes-to-Fuel that is a system that converts paint fumes into electricity that is being performed with Detroit Edison along with attempting to couple the application of primer, base and clearcoat paint applications into a particular application to eliminate the need for separate applications and ovens. In increasing to the paint booth emissions Ford Motor business will continue to rely on alternative vigor sources such as landfill gas and wind and solar technologies to power their manufacturing facilities.

Ford Motor business – Technology –

Another environmental scanning tool that Ford Motor business monitors and uses would be the technological portion. The business has invested billion in the most recent technology for flexible manufacturing. The technology that is complicated is in many forms to contain wireless technology that is installed on the delivery trucks with supplies to the plant as a monitoring status and improved efficiency to sell out inventory. The flexibility of products in the same plant allows the society to use the same machinery and process for all areas from body assembly, paint facility, and final assembly. The improved efficiency at the manufacturing installation allows for any vehicle platforms to be built on the same line to furnish multiple models and speedily turn the vehicle mix, the volume, and options based on customer demand.

The technological changes that are being embraced by Ford Motor business straight through environmental scanning enables the business to perceive huge cost savings straight through new goods launches and 50 percent reductions in cycle changeovers along with waste reduction. Robots are among the technological changes that are being experienced within the society to contain the 400 from the task that are used to weld and assemble the metal body of the vehicle for stamping and assembly. synthetic brain in the form of developed visions systems and laser tracking systems are used to ensure quality straight through accuracy and size abilities. A multi-million dollar training installation is used to ensure that the workforce has the knowledge, skills, and quality to reap the benefits from the new technology that is being used by the company. The training that is administered includes the new servo-electric weld gun system that identifies the exquisite town for welding that has supplanted the older and loud air-powered system that used a less sophisticated spring system. The environmental scanning of technology that is performed by Ford Motor business has allowed the business to have inevitable outcomes in efficiency while remaining a competitive business in the industry straight through cost savings and continuous improvement.

Compass Bank- Political -

On February 16, 2007, Compass Bancshares, Inc., the parent business of Compass Bank, announced the signing of a definitive business transaction under which Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (Nyse: Bbv Madrid: Bbva) ("Bbva") will obtain Compass for a composition of cash and stock. Compass will become a thoroughly owned U.S. Subsidiary of Bbva and will continue to control under the Compass name. The transaction is improbable to close while the second half of 2007, pending former end conditions, including vital bank regulatory approvals in the U.S. And Spain and the approval of the stockholders of both Compass and Bbva.

Bbva, which operates in 35 countries, is based in Spain and has great banking interests in the Americas. The transaction will facilitate Bbva’s continued growth in Texas and will generate the largest regional bank across the Sunbelt. Upon completion of the transaction, Compass will rank among the top 25 banks in the United States with approximately billion in total assets, billion in total loans and billion in total deposits. In addition, the combined business will rank fourth in deposit market share in Texas with .6 billion in total deposits and 326 full-service banking offices.

Compass is a billion Southwestern financial keeping business that operates 415 full-service banking centers in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico and Texas. Compass provides a broad array of products and services straight through three former lines of business – Corporate Banking, retail Banking and Wealth Management. Compass is among the top 30 U.S. Bank keeping associates by asset size and ranks among the top earners of its size based on return on equity.

Under the terms of the definitive agreement, which has been popular ,favorite by the board of directors of Compass and the relevant bodies of Bbva, Compass will become a thoroughly owned subsidiary of Bbva. After closing, Bbva intends to merge its U.S. Based banking affiliates – including the old operations of Texas Regional Bancshares, State National Bancshares and Laredo National Bancshares – with Compass.

The composition notice is composed of a fixed estimate of approximately 196 million shares of Bbva common stock and approximately .6 billion in cash. The merger is field to former end conditions, including vital bank regulatory approvals in the U.S. And Spain and the approval of the stockholders of both Compass and Bbva. The transaction is improbable to close in the second half of 2007.

The merger in the middle of both associates will be determined by the political factors ranging from implications of laws and regulations to the state of world politics including the notice of wars which may be going on in distinct parts of the world. New laws, regulations, tax programs and social course generate troops and trends, which may supply challenges and barriers or opportunities for any business or organization.

Compass Bank – Technology –

Ford is in the process of implementing a laser marking system on its production line to ensure the top acceptable on each transmission assembled. The system will be checking for quality on distinct points on the assembly line. Ford is teaming up with a business called Mecco to implement this process and a trial run of the new system will last for 3 months. Mecco is a leader in its industry when it comes to laser technology. The decision to implement this new laser marking system came because it is more cost- effective and safer than old ways of marking checkpoints for quality.

Although this process at Ford has not officially been implemented yet, Compass Bank can learn a few distinct things. It may be a good idea for Compass Bank to do a short trial of online cell phone banking to see how popular it becomes and if it worth all the time and effort, being spent to get it launched. Compass Bank should also consider investing into a business who is the best at what they do, is in the same time zone, and can meet their demands in a timely manner, not naturally because they may be cheaper. Finally, Compass Bank can learn that they need to consider what will be most cost-effective and in the best interest of the business over time. Organizing a time line and a list of costs and potential risks would also be useful to Compass Bank so they know what to expect and when with the implementation of online cell phone banking.

When completing the global scan one looks for emerging new technologies which may impact any business in any industry. At one time the emergence of the Internet was a technology that was becoming an emerging trend across all industries. Today very new technologies are used to originate information systems at a fraction of the cost and time of processes that were used five years ago. Wireless is a telecommunications technology that may have moved from a trend to a force in revolutionizing the way information is stored, accessed and used across all industries colse to the world. Some, if leveraged by a business within an industry before competitors use it, may even supply a competitive advantage.

Compass Bank – Competition –

Although mergers may be costly and rather difficult, the value it creates in the end is the desired outcome associates seek. The eagerness to merge is based on any beliefs, those beliefs are, that the performance gains are greater, expenses are reduced, market power is increased, and shareholder’s wealth is also greater than before. The value of a merger is enhanced when the extensive benefit is more vital than the composition of two separate pre-merger companies.
In the end, both John and Bernard should consider this before finalizing a decision. When Zion’s purchased Stockmans, there extensive value increased by 43 branches. These branches will help performance and brings much more power to the financial market. In the Journal of Money article, Pilloff states “Companies are more willing to obtain others to avoid being acquired themselves.” keeping this in mind, associates must shape out a cross border strategy.

As part of the broad environmental scan, it is leading to identify the internal capabilities of the organization. There are assorted models for defining capabilities. Most focus on the broad set of intangible assets such as brand, human capital, organizational capital and even relationship capital. Others contain the more concrete assets such as ready capital, the society structure, current technologies and information technology infrastructure. In increasing to doing a broad environmental trend, Compass Bank needs to do a more detailed quality assessment using any of the models available.

DawningStreams - Competitors –

Business activities are becoming more and more complicated to manage, because of distance, time zones, estimate of parties complicated in projects, estimate of tasks to achieve, multiple prioritizations, lack of general synchronization, insufficient obtain and confidential communication channels and growing complexity of It infrastructures. The use of task list managers has become very common. It is becoming more difficult to keep teams synchronized, to result and to implement new business processes and to transfer sensitive information confidentially. The DawningStreams software application is aiming at increasing the practicality of daily executive activities. The types of business, which will most probably be concerned in our product, are building (size of network), consulting (need for synchronization), pharmaceutical research (secure transfer of information) and the software industry (complexity of manufacturing).

Many associates have already developed software applications that enable secured communications and file sharing. However, most, if not all, are relying on Microsoft technologies, which preclude them from increasing to Mac or Unix users. DawningStreams is developed in Java, which can be used on any platform, including Mac and Unix. Microsoft has acquired the Groove business and has released a new version of the product, which can perform many of the functionalities of DawningStreams, but not generic activities (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/groove/default.aspx). This is our closest competitor by far. More recently, we found, merely by accident, a business called Shinkuro (www.shinkuro.com), which offers the file sharing aspects of DawningStreams but lacks other capacities.

Although DawningStreams will face competition from many existing players, the fact that it will couple a super-set of functionalities in one application, for a very cheap price, will give it some leading edge over other competitors. If the Us patent is granted, the position of DawningStreams will become a niche. Even if the patent were not granted, it would take a profound architectural redesign of Groove (or other competitors) to contain generic activities and match the offer of DawningStreams. As a strategy we will monitor the activities of those companies’ websites and understand what they offer in terms of similar functionality and try to ensure we match or best those functionalities to the best of our quality and resources

DawningStreams – Political -

Maintaining the secrecy of information is the basal function of encryption items. Persons abroad may use such items to harm Us law promulgation efforts, as well as Us foreign course and national protection interests. The Us Government has a vital interest in ensuring that persons opposed to the United States are not able to conceal hostile or criminal activities, and that the legitimate needs for protecting leading and sensitive information of the social and secret sectors are met. Since 2000, Us encryption export course has been directed by three basal practices: technical describe of encryption products prior to sale, streamlined post-export reporting, and license reviews of proposed transactions spirited strong encryption to inevitable foreign government end-users and countries of concern. Us encryption course also seeks to ensure that American associates are not disadvantaged by the European Union’s “license-free zone.” (Bureau of industry and Security, 2007).

DawningStreams will contain cryptographic functions. Any dependable and effective cryptographic system requires a central authority to avoid identity theft. Cryptography is a key functionality of DawningStreams. All specialists insist on designing systems using well-studied algorithms and fully tested protocols; novelty is determined a source of risk. The cryptographic layer of DawningStreams will rely on a dual public-private key system. The secret key encryption system will implement Rijndael, the developed Encryption acceptable (http://csrc.nist.gov/CryptoToolkit/aes/rijndael/), the social key system will implement Rsa (www.rsa.com) and the hashing function will implement the 256 bits version of the obtain Hash Algorithm (http://secure-hash-algorithm-md5-sha-1.co.uk/ ).

Encryption products can be used to conceal the communications of terrorists, drug smugglers, and others intent on harming U.S. Interests. Cryptographic products and software also have troops and brain applications that, in the hands of hostile nations, could pose a threat to U.S. National security. The national security, foreign policy, and law promulgation interests of the United States are protected by encryption export controls. These controls are consistent with executive Order (E.O.) 13026, which was issued on November 15, 1996, and the Presidential Memorandum of the same date. (Bureau of industry and Security, 2007).

DawningStreams also plans to be an international company, as offices now exist in the Netherlands and the Us. As part of the strategy, we will ensure we remain compliant by registering our goods with any vital division and allowing those agencies access to the processes if they feel there is a threat. We will be responsible to monitor (as best as we can) our client base and to put the proper verbiage in our contracts that illegal activities will not be tolerated. We will continue to monitor the Bis site mentioned in old paragraphs and also sites in the European Union such as the Crypto Law website of legal master Bert-Jaap Koops (http://rechten.uvt.nl/koops/)

DawningStreams - Technology/Intellectual asset –

The supervision of organizational strategy requires a extensive assessment of the macro environment of the business. Intellectual asset (Ip) refers to the former ideas and innovations evolved by an society in order to haul up its systems and processes. Creation of ideas requires large investments. This necessitates the protection of Ip. Benchmarking is the continuous process of measuring products, processes, and systems of an society against those that are rated best in the industry. It helps in uncovering weaknesses and flaws in the organizational systems, processes, and products. (Watson, 2003)

The study of the global research conducted by McAfee Inc. And MessageLabs Ltd. On protection threat in small businesses in the U.S. Reveals that 80 percent of small-and-medium-sized businesses (Smb) believe that an information technology (It) protection failure would be damaging in attaining their business priorities. Yet, only few are courageously production steps to fight against infringements due to resource limitations from other business connected priorities. The research implies that business size plays an vital part in the way senior supervision views security. Among the challenges that Smbs face contain keeping modern with protection solutions and keeping costs low. Small-to-medium businesses’ behavior towards protection is very tactical and meets only immediate requirements. (unknown, 2007)

DawningStreams’ relevance to these troops is two-fold. We are a software company—there is an opportunity for us to lose the intellectual asset by those who would download and attempt to modify the code. We have competitors who offer functionality similar to ours, however we offer an further functionality the others do not. It is this ‘specialty functionality’ for which we applied for a patent the United States Patent and Trademark Office. If the patent is granted, there is less likelihood of software piracy or the loss of our Ip. Environmental scans should show us if there are other associates trying to do this.

The functionality, which most resembles our competitors’, is the quality to share files. That brings in a distinct concern with intellectual property- the possibility person else’s Ip could be sent from one of our users to another, as this could seriously damage our reputation, as what happened with Napster. (www.napster.com).
