She earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Des Moines University, Des Moines, Iowa. While at Des Moines University Dr. Swan was awarded the Des Moines University Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Scholarship for "Outstanding Academic Achievement". Dr. Swans undergraduate studies include two years at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance. Post graduate studies included extensive courses in biological sciences at Wright State University. Dr. Swan completed her Podiatric surgical residency at the Yale University/VA Healthcare residency program in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Swan's Yale surgical training includes extensive instruction from nationally recognized Podiatric Surgeons and Yale University Medical School Orthopedic Surgeons in all aspects of podiatric surgery and medicine including ankle reconstructive surgery, fore foot and rear foot reconstructive surgery as well as extensive Wound Care. Dr. Swan is on staff with Upper Valley Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, Samaritan North Medical Center and Wilson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Swan enjoys extra curricular activities including; swimming, tennis, golf and water sports.
